This week’s host is Shep Si Ra. Joining her is Dr. Janine James, Dee Conley, and Queen Mother Shabaka. The Sankofa Council of Wisconsin Radio program is an affiliation of the Black Reality Think Tank radio network.

SANKOFA COUNSIL OF MILWAUKEE PRODUCTION
“LET THE ELDERS SPEAK”
The Black Reality Think Tank’s Weekend Edition Part 2 will dialogue with a powerful “Queen Mother,” (Dr, Janine James) who is an MD and has delivered over 3000 babies during her 40-year career. She will be interviewed by Brother Alfonzo Watkins, Executive Director of the Sankofa Council of Milwaukee on issues of infant mortality and nurturing our children in the Womb through Birth and Beyond.
Infant mortality is a key measure of a nation’s health, reflecting socioeconomic conditions, maternal health, public health practices, and access to high-quality medical care, among other factors. Major causes of infant mortality include birth defects, low birth weight, and preterm birth, maternal pregnancy complications, and sudden infant death syndrome.
The mortality rate among black infants is high—more than double the rate for white and Asian groups.

>>>Seeing ourselves Through the Lens of Our Ancestors<<<
Developmental psychology is the scientific study of how and why human beings change over the course of their life. So the question becomes “How do we, as African people begin to Protect, Defend, and Heal ourselves Spiritually, Mentally, and Physically moving into the 21st Century?” One of our resident Mental health professionals and Co-host Alfonzo Watkins will lead an open discussion on this subject.
The program is produced by the Black Reality Think Tank and airs Saturday afternoon 6/6/2020, at 6 pm central time. The program streams live on timeforanawakening.com. One can call (215)490-9832 to listen via telephone.
This is the maiden voyage for this addition to the Black Reality Think Tank Family where we are always “Solution Focused.”
